Márcio José Martins

His area of research is in the interface between Mathematical Physics, Statistical Mechanics and Quantum Field Theory. Over the past years he has been both applying non-perturbative analytical and numerical techniques and developing mathematical methods to study properties of low-dimensional physical systems. The use of integrability has played a major role in his research and relevant contribution to the formulation of the quantum inverse scattering method has been given by his group in São Carlos. Major themes of recent research interest include: study of the exact solution of low-dimensional systems, correlation and partition function of lattice models, integrability in string and gauge theories as well as numerical methods to tackle many-body problems.
